Howard Prouty
Howard worked 35 years for IBM Corporation in Colorado; 8 years as Program Manager for the Event Marketing Department.

As a worldwide team leader, Howard directed the planning and execution of multiple complex business shows and special events. Howard was responsible for over 60 trade shows per year including several major worldwide shows.

As meeting and event coordinator, Howard orchestrated sales kickoffs, business partner updates and employee recognition events. Howard directed the IBM customer event at the '96 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and won an IBM Gold Medal corporate award. He coordinated site selection, hotel contract negotiations, A/V production, function planning, speakers and entertainment selection.

Howard established the first Boulder County competitive girl's softball division and was head coach of the Boulder Comets for 14 years. He also started the softball program for Boulder High and as head coach lead the team to state titles for two years.


Kathy Korpela
Kathy worked 21 years at IBM in sales and event management. She has extensive experience in marketing, sales, sales operations and technical support.

As an Event Manger, Kathy developed and managed the strategic event plan for multiple business units. Kathy was responsible for show exhibit design, messaging and financial management of events that showcased IBM solutions. Her innovative ideas expanded IBM awareness in key marketplaces and generated new revenue.

Kathy successfully integrated events into the overall IBM strategic marketing plan, deliberately using them as a planned tactic. As a result, Kathy reduced expenses from her $2.9 million event budget by 21% and at the same time increased the number of worldwide events from 35 to 55. Kathy vitally improved the effectiveness of IBM events by measuring each event's influence on brand awareness and revenue.
